Top up a Swift card
You can top up your Swift card:
- online
- on the TfWM app
- at a Payzone store
- at any Metro ticket machine
- at a Swift ticket machine
Top-up online
To top up your card online, sign in to your Swift account and select the card you'd like to add money to. Choose the amount you want to add, and checkout.
If you don’t have a Swift card, you can get a pay-as-you-go Swift card here.
Once you’ve paid for your top-up, you must activate it on your Swift card.
You can do this by using either:
- the TfWM app
- at any Metro ticket machine
- a Swift ticket machine

If you have a smartphone, you can activate the top-up on your card from home using the app.
For an Android device, get the app from the Google Play Store.
For an iPhone, get the app from the App Store.
When you’ve downloaded it:
- Open the TfWM app
- Tap on 'Tickets'
- Tap the 'Collector'
- Hold your Swift card to the back of your phone (If you have an iPhone, you will need to select 'Scan card')
- Wait to see the confirmation message on screen.
- Your card is now ready to use

Payzone stores and Swift ticket machines
You top up your card in person at:
- your nearest Payzone store (click on additional services and look for swift smart ticketing)
- at any Metro ticket machine
- a Swift ticket machine
Pay-As-You-Go Auto top-up
We can automatically keep your pay-as-you-go Swift card topped up. We will automatically top up your card by charging your bank card if your balance drops below £10.
You can choose the amount your Swift card is topped up with:
- £10
- £20
- £30
- £40
You need to set up auto top-up in your Swift account.
Once signed in, select your pay-as-you-go Swift card and follow the steps to set up auto top-up.
You can change or cancel your auto top-up amount at any time in your Swift account.
