  • Class trip support
  • Disruption and infrastructure changes
  • Transport for West Midlands Youth Forum
  • Sustainable travel options

We help students, staff and parents consider:

  • the route they take

We also help people to take up walking and cycling.

There are resources to help teach students about:

Travelling safely

How to travel safely | Transport for West Midlands

Safety

We have a police team called the Safer Travel Partnership. They patrol public transport to keep it safe. See tips on staying safe when travelling.

Information for young people

We want to help you travel around the West Midlands. You can:

  • Get an under 16 photocard to prove your age
  • Get a 16-18 photocard so you can buy child fares
  • Get discounts with student tickets

If you're starting an apprenticeship, you can get discounted travel for the first three months.

When you travel on public transport you need to follow the passenger code of conduct. This helps to keep everyone safe.

16 to 26 year olds can join our Youth Forum to help shape the future of transport in the West Midlands. Give feedback | Transport for West Midlands

Living Streets Walk to School

WOW is a pupil-led initiative where children self-report how they get to school every day using the interactive WOW Travel Tracker. If they travel sustainably (walk/wheel, cycle or scoot) once a week for a month, they get rewarded with a badge.

It's simple to run and children love taking part. Each year, the collectable WOW badges are designed by pupils in our annual badge design competition.
