Eastside Birmingham City Centre

Digbeth High Street

Ends: Ongoing

Last updated: 5 September 2023

What’s happening?

The Eastside of Birmingham City Centre is set to be transformed through a multimillion pound regeneration project, led by Birmingham City Council, to improve housing, office and leisure space.

With the extension of the metro line, the opening of HS2 Curzon Street Station and the introduction of new Sprint routes, the area will be one of the most connected parts of city and become a better area to live, work, study and visit.

Whist work takes place, you may experience disruption to your journey. There will be changes to the way you travel to and from some parts of the city centre. Please plan ahead and  remember to check your journey regularly

Digbeth High Street

Public realm works continue to take place on Digbeth High Street with the aim of making the area more attractive, supporting future commercial interest, and increasing footfall.

Work will also mean better-connected transport links with a new West Midlands Metro route into the city centre, consisting of four new Metro stops.

Two-way traffic in and out of the city will be maintained but the area may be busier than usual so please plan ahead and allow more time for your journey.
